The attorney that was hired to institutionalize my mother is paid from my mother's estate. During a recent hearing, he argued against enhancing her quality of life and intensified restrictions against family members visiting her.
My mother is unable to refuse to pay this attorney, the same man that set up the case so she wouldn't be able to refuse.
I believe that the attorney saw an opportunity to profit from a vulnerable person. The court approves. Unbelievable, but true.
Have you had a similar experience?
